IES Karlstad´s new students had a great afternoon on the Fun Day with all new students

On the 15:th of May, we gathered 250 new students at Skutberget just outside Karlstad to have some teambuilding activities an to meet their new class mates. We played and performed a few funny games and just had a great time. Mr Tucek was responsible for the students work and informed carefully about IES pedagogical atmosphere and mentors participated with their new classes.

I as the Principal of the school met some 300 parents on Skutberget in a kind of out door meeting where I informed them about IES Junior School Karlstad in general, our academic philosophy, the school rules, how we are working with the words please and thank you and how we are living according to our ethos and the concept tough love. This was a good oppurtunity for me to meet "my new parents" and to answer their questions.
I am proud about the new students work and engagement at Skutberget and I have to say that, according to what I saw, they really lived the IES Karlstad culture when playing and team building.

Member of the Swedish parliament visits Engelska Skolan on Friday the 27:th

On Friday the 27:th of April, the member of the Swedish parliament, Mr Christian Holm (M) is visiting Engelska Skolan Karlstad. His political secretary contacted me the other week in order to plan for a visit since Mr Holm wishes to come and see how we are working when it comes to the academic challenge, our thoughts regarding student care and how we live the school´s rules actively. Our renovation has started!

When our students left for their Easter vacation, we started the renovation process in order to arrange all the facilities required for Internationella Engelska Skolan - Junior School Karlstad. We have also started to build our new library in the I-building and will continue with the Junior Club and some classrooms later. This renovation work will give us great and needed school facilities to welcome our Junior School students in August 2012. An amazing sight in a classroom

I visited a classroom a few days ago where a teacher was teaching math, and it was an amazing sight. The education was conducted in English, the room was calm and quiet, the students were focused on the topic at hand and the teacher was getting through to the students in a brilliant way – and this in the English language! The clarity in the teaching, the creative and curious atmosphere, the willingness to participate and explore were astounding to see. Read more

Introductory Day at Engelska Skolan March 17:th

On Saturday, March 17, Engelska Skolan is conducting the third introductory day for new students.
More than 300 students are to attend the day in order to try out and see how it is at the school when it comes to the academic focus, the bilingualism and tough love.
We are welcoming all students and their parents to the "first school day" even if it is a try day.

Since week 9, is always the Sport´s vacation week in Karlstad, I wish you all the best and a nice relaxing week.

Sport´s Day at Internationella Engelska Skolan Karlstad Monday February 13:th

On Monday Febryary 13:th, Internationella Engelska Skolan Karlstad will arrange the yearly Sport´s Day.
Students will go skiing, play badminton and squash, curling, the classical innebandy and go on a scavinger hunt in Karlstad City.
The weather seems to be fine so I am sure they will all have a great day.

Personally, I am going to play some badminton and squash with the students in the morning.

Mr Brunker, IES Head of Academic's is visiting Karlstad February 6:th

On Monday, the 6:th of February, Mr Damian Brunker, Head of Academic's in Internationella Engelska Skolan Sweden, is visiting us in order to go through IES Karlstads educational quality and result with Mr Dahlin, the schools's Principal.
Mr Brunker will also visit some lessons to see how the school's teachers are conducting lessons and how they live their class room management.
