World Teacher Day

The 5th of October is World Teacher Day recognized by UNESCO. We at IES Karlstad choose to acknowledge this day regarding the fantastic Loyalty and Commitment our staff have in engaging all of our students both past and present in a terrific education at our school.

Teachers truly have an amazing profession to shape and guide individuals to be to the best possible they can be. Their dedication is deserving of recognition.

'Thank you teachers at IES Karlstad!'

Literacy time

Literacy time

We have implemented a new literacy program in year 4 and 5 this year. There is no evaluation just to encourage kids to read and write. There are always very engaged.

Peace day and language week recognition

Peace day and language week recognition

We are celebrating Peace day today and Language week. Therefore we have put up the Spanish and French flags to recognize the modern languages we have at our school. We truly have a diverse group of staff and students and the cultural exchange is amazing. One of our values at school is that everyone should feel safe and respected for who they are. Recognizing Peace day and celebrating language and culture is very important for us. Even our lunch menu this week has an extra cultural flavor. Thank you to all the students and staff for creating posters and speaking openly about this very important value. Go IES Karlstad!

This was posted on our main organization website and I wanted to share it with our viewers in Karlstad.

IES publishes grade statistics

Dear all,

IES publishes grade statistics on our website for all our year 9 students.

High academic expectations is one of Internationella Engelska Skolan’s three main convictions, and we are proud of the work that our teachers and students accomplish during the year. We work with a comprehensive systematic quality model to ensure that we set fair and accurate grades and take a firm stance to counter grade inflation.

Transparent and comparable quality information is important in order for school choice to be successful.

IES publishes this independently because the National Agency for Education (Skolverket) has come to the conclusion that they no longer can publish this based on a ruling from the Administrative Court (Kammarrätten). IES welcomes that the government has initiated a process to change the current legislation so the statistics can be published by the authorities once again.

Morning full of flowers

Morning full of flowers

I want to thank everyone who took the time to bring me flowers in the morning while having my parking lot duty. It is always a pleasure welcoming everyone, so this was truly a pleasant surprise. Thank you!
